E.O.T.B is a first person psychological horror game and you guessed it,its theme is the Backrooms.Heavily inspired by the eerieness of liminal spaces,i decided to make a rather cinematic yet creepy experience of the Backrooms world.

You play as Oliver, a mechanic at a secret underground laboratory. There, a non govermenent organization tries multiple tests to achieve creating a time machine gate,however while tweaking one of the machines it errors,activating the Time Gate,which opens a portal to a non-linear dimension,the Backrooms, a place where time and space unfolds in unforeseen ways.Will you find a way back to your reality? Or will you become part of this twisted dimension?

QUICK DEV NOTE:

Keep in mind that this game is undergoing 90% of its development from one person,i am doing my best to deliver a good experience and not some ripoff/cheaply developed game,after all thats why the game has a price and is not free.There are still lots to improve (especially the performance part,haha....). However aside from the technical performance issues this game has some very complex horror mechanics and i consider it a very solid Backrooms experience.. I hope you enjoy this short indie game experience!

- TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES

I've created this game mostly focusing on atmosphere and breath taking visuals using Unreal Engine 5.3,thus the following systems/technologies are used:


-Next Gen Lighting technology,using Lumen both software and hardware ray tracing features like Ray Traced Shadows,Acurrate Global Illumination and real time lighting.

-Immersive 3D Sound Technology from Microsoft. Project Acoustics,offering spatialized and binaural audio integration, making sound effects,ambience and music interact with the 3D environment.Long story short,physically based sound rendering.

And on top of the physically based audio rendering EOTB features,the game uses Dolby Atmos audio spatialization.

Dolby Atmos uses three-dimensional precision game audio to immerse players in a more realistic, more intense gaming experience, and even allows for improvements in game play performance. Sounds with lifelike details are precisely placed all around the players, so they feel like they are deeper inside the game, reacting faster and more accurately than ever before.

-Next Gen Upscaling Technology from NVIDIA,featuring 2 upscaling methods,making your game run faster while maintaining the same visual quality,NIS is used for non RTX video cards and DLSS is used only on RTX video cards.


-A basic yet solid main menu featuring all the needed options to optimize or tweak the performance/control of the gameplay experience.

And a last,special note:

Aside from the personal enjoyment i get from creating visual artwork like animations,digital illustrations and horror content,i made this game to prove that you dont have to posses some fancy university degree or license to produce a game,a movie or a drawing and live from that.All it takes is hard work and passion for what you are crafting with your bare hands,and of course believing in that craft.
